Good! We know it’s a fact that knitting is good for the spirit in terms of being a relaxing, almost meditative act. I find it soothes me in moments of stress. As you know, I rarely finish anything but I’ve always got several projects going. I take my knitting everywhere much to the dismay of my non-knitting friends and relatives up here. They just don’t get it.

That’s how I felt when I gave Tundra to Ileana – she looks beautiful wearing it and she knows how to work it too. Creates such satisfaction for the creator.

I’ve often wondered about yarn I have stored out in the open – no fading so far but then again they are not by a window. Still, I’m thinking it might be best to put them away in a closet or something. But I enjoy having the yarn around just to see and pet it. Like this skein right on my desk: Stonemountain Spinnery Mountain Mohair. It’s lofty and soft and such a wonderful color – lupine. I would miss that. Think I’ll continue taking the risk of fading…

I followed a link on Rav to this page. Your shawl looks great, I love those colors! I had similar trouble last night fixing a dropped stitch in my CA and I finally decided that it was harder to ladder it back up using the crochet hook than it was just using the needles. It was much easier to change directions that way.

Can’t wait to see your finishes project!

Sl 1 P-wise is my way of saying slip the stitch from the left to the right needle, with the needles in the purl position.
M1 is “make one” which is an increase of one stitch. It doesn’t really matter much which increase you use, but I probably did a bar increase, which is to pick up the yarn between two stitches, insert the needle from front to back and knit through the back loop.

Sounds like you had alot of fun! You really got some nice things. I am hard pressed to pick which shawl stick I like the best – but I’m leaning towards the one in the middle!

I’m working on a stole from a Lion Brand pattern. My gauge is fine, but I didn’t realize how skinny it was going to be. I like the pattern, but when this one is finished I’m going to make another one but with a couple pattern repeats.
